WHAT: A FREE complete workshop to start a regular yoga and meditation practice. During this workshop you will build solid bases to start your own regular yoga and meditation practice.
You will learn:
The importance of scheduling some self-time
Bases for practicing sitting, standing and walking meditation
How to hold a meditation posture
The structure of a yoga class
The DOs and DON’Ts in a yoga session
Basic cues for a yoga practice based in your needs
How to plan your own session
You will have an opportunity to:
Explore and understand facts and misconceptions of yoga and meditation
Participate in friendly circle discussions
Ask questions and share your experience
Join a group of regular practitioners
WHO: This is an inclusive training open for all. You don’t need to have any yoga or meditation experience. Beginners are welcomed. This is not a religious event, all kind of beliefs are welcomed.

This training will be facilitated by Gabriela Tobias (she/her/hers) - 200-hour yoga teacher with a multicultural and multidisciplinary background. She is the founder of Nangpa Community, a project that offers meditation and yoga to people with limited or no access to this kind of self care practices. She is in constant training, but she also thinks the best way to learn is practicing and sharing experiences with others.
Gabriela has attended and organized Women Circles in Mexico and USA since 2013. She has also offered Wisdom Circles and Drumming Circles. Since 2020 she guides weekly meditation sessions online hosted by the Milarepa Buddhist Center of Iowa.
